Bypass the "open with" option when you open unrecognized filetypes
There's an annoying little feature in Windows: when you open a unrecognized filetype you get a small windows that ask if you want to search the web for a program that can help you with the file.
We all know that this feature is not very helpful, so probably many where the times when you wanted that option gone.
Caution! Registry editing is dangerous! Please be sure you review this video if you're unsure about what you are doing.
The key address is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer
The name of the key you must add is:
NoInternetOpenWith. Set this key's value to 1.
