This tutorial will review a program that claims it can turn the Windows XP interface into one similar to Windows 7s. We saw the screenshot from their website and decided to try it out ourselves.
You can download the program here.
As Julie mentions in the video, do create a restore point before you test it yourself.

After this video, our team ran further tests and we couldn't find any notable performance issues. If you have at least 1GB of RAM you will be fine. We appreciate the hard work that's been put to create this FREE program and we thank the creator.

Don't forget to visit their website so you can be updated when changes occur.

A restore poing is going to backup your registry, protected Windows files (the DLLcache), your local user profile and... some other uninteresting stuff.

If you knew it or not, the Registry and the local user files are the most important. In case of a virus, 70% change the virus will spread in you temp files and in your Registry. So, if you have a restore point, the virus is half way gone! :)

Don't under estimate the power of a simple Restore Point! :)

For those who want to try these on Windows Vista: some commands may not be available, for example the "telnet" command, which can be activated thou' by checking it in the "Turn Windows features on or off" from the "Program and features" in Control Panel. If you don't have any ideea about this it means you probably don't need this command from the get go. :)

This how you can accelerate any application by setting it's priority.

In this example we used Notepad, but you can do it for any application.

Tips: you can lower priority for applications that just sits in the background and raise the priority for those that you need.

This also works in Windows Vista.
